Areas of Expertise
Individual Depth Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a proven and creative way to engage with your life for personal healing and growth. I have worked with people experiencing a broad range of psychological and emotional difficulties; as well as people interested in personal growth to live their fullest life. My approach is collaborative and relational. I support you to live into the life you want.
Our work will give you help with your current challenges, heal the impact of past experiences, foster your strengths and develop the parts of you that need to grow. I’ve always been fascinated with life experiences and how we can listen to them for wisdom and healing. Ultimately, I’m interested in how you live well; having healthy relationships, to yourself and to the world.
I can assist you in the following areas:
-
Manage your emotional wellbeing: Depression, anxiety, grief and trauma
-
Personal development: Discover choices and possibilities
-
Navigate life transitions: work and life balance
-
Clarify relationships: respecting each unique voice in family, finding common ground in diversity
-
Care for your self: Care of the caregiver
-
Draw from your whole person: intellectual, emotional, physical, social, creative, and spiritual
The depth therapy difference brings more of you into play in your healing process. We use tools and strategies to help relieve symptoms, and move into deeper healing with the experience of a deeper therapeutic relationship. Jungian dreamwork, working with the many parts of you and valuing unconscious process are often parts of this experience. Because you are unique, no two treatments are the same.
In the past years I have worked particularly with Creatives, people in the Tech industry, C suite executives, therapists and healthcare workers, ex-pats and new immigrants, people from First Nations communities, and people in life transitions.
Care of the Professional Caregiver
Supporting Healthcare professionals is one of my specializations. We explore self care and resilience, burnout, vicarious trauma, and work specifically related to the interpersonal and professional strain in this time of the Pandemic.
Spiritual Accompaniment
Spiritual accompaniment is for people who want to deepen their relationship to the Divine. I have training in theology and spiritual accompaniment and have walked with individuals from many spiritual traditions. Religious and spiritual experiences can be life affirming or cause spiritual trauma. Many people have experienced religious wounding which can be understood and healed. This work is a unique and personal journey into love and connection.
Psychological Assessment and Teaching
I do seminary student and clergy psychological assessment in both Canada and California. I have taught at the University level and lead workshops for many different communities. I also have experience and really enjoy supervising therapists in training.
My Approach
Psychotherapy is based on solid research and the world’s wisdom traditions, and at its best it is an experience between us that is unique to you. I believe it is the most important journey you can take to move towards living a rich, meaningful life. I have a passion for helping people heal, live fully and move into their wholeness.
Beyond a Doctorate in Psychology at the University of British Columbia, I specialize in depth and transpersonal psychology, Internal Family Systems, care of the professional caregiver, and therapist training. I focus on the use of evidence-based treatment with an eclectic approach.
I offer professional and experienced support to make enduring changes.
